Lou Natale, professional drummer, arranger vocalist,has dedicated over 60 years to his musical
career. Originating from the Pittsburgh area he began playing styles of the English
Invasion – then R&B (Motown) and Classical. He moved to Florida where he
continued to perform and study Jazz gaining vast experience in diversified

Lou Natale, professional drummer, arranger vocalist,has dedicated over 60 years to his musical
career. Originating from the Pittsburgh area he began playing styles of the English
Invasion – then R&B (Motown) and Classical. He moved to Florida where he
continued to perform and study Jazz gaining vast experience in diversified
Modern Traditional American Jazz music, with the the melting and blending of
influences from Cuba, Brazil and the Caribbean.
Schools Attended: Broward College-studied Jazz under the baton of Jay Corey
(sax player for Buddy Rich); Florida Atlantic University-studied under Dr. Prince.
Studied Drums with: Bernard Linette (drummer for Freddy Cole); Frank Gant
(drummer for Ahmed Jamal) and Duffy Jackson (drummer for Lionel Hampton and
the Count Basie Orchestra); Steve Bagby (drummer for Ira Sullivan).
He performed throughout South Florida at venues such as the Carlyle Hotel,
Fountainebleau Hotel, the Diplomat Hotel, Hemmingways, Marthas and for cruise
lines such as LaBoheme, the Dolphin, the Caribe.
He had the opportunity to work with great Jazz musicians such as William Boone
who was the pianist for the famous sax player Lester Young and also Pete Minger,
trumpet player for the Count Basie Orchestra.
After years in Florida, he moved to Maryland where he played throughout the
DC/Virginia/Maryland area. He performed at many well-known venues such as
Blues Alley, Bohemian Caverns, Twins Jazz, US Botanic Gardens and on the
Millenium Stage of the Kennedy Center.
Lou has shared concert stages with Jazz greats such as The Duke Ellington Band,
Richard Elliott, Buster Williams, Nathan Page, Joe Williams and Dizzy Gillespie.
While in the DC/Virginia/Maryland area he had the opportunity to work with great Jazz musicians such as Tommy Falcone (Sax) whose brother Frank was the
musical director for Frank Sinatra, Bobby Butta (Piano), Carl Cornwell (Sax), Lyle
Link (Sax), Larry Brown (Piano) and many others.
Three years ago he moved to Viera, Florida and has played throughout the area at
venues such as Main Street Pub (Melbourne) with Ron Pirtle, Heidi’s Jazz Club
(Cocoa Beach) with Billy D, George & Dragon (Cocoa Village) with Jerry Z, the
Yacht Club (Vero Beach) with David Bialos, the Albis Cocktails & Bites (Cocoa
Beach) and Village Biergarten (Cocoa Village) with Chief Cherry.
Now onward with Natale Jazz Project where Lou creates a one-man band by
playing all the instruments while blending his singing voice with the smooth
sounds of Jazz!
